About mould
MOULD is a droning low-tuned five-piece from the Netherlands, merging sonic doom (Windhand) and epic sludge (YOB, Neurosis, Thou) with the hypothermic vocals of guitarist/vocalist Jeska Buhmann. Although conceived earlier by guitarist Mark de Smit and Jeska, MOULD evolved into a full-blown guitar driven, live-playing band in 2021.
After a series of live performances, in 2022 the focus is on working towards recording their debut album, for which they explore different facets of duality: what’s above the surface and what is below, what’s in front of the mirror and what is behind. Each composition portrays its own sliding landscape, evoking oppressive and absorbing atmospheres. MOULD is impatiently anticipating sharing their energy and music with devotees of slow heaviness.
MOULD is een droning low-tuned vijftal uit Nederland, dat sonic doom (Windhand) en epische sludge (YOB, Neurosis, Thou) samensmelt met de onderkoelde zang van gitarist/vocalist Jeska Buhmann. Hoewel eerder opgericht door gitarist Mark de Smit en Jeska, evolueerde MOULD in 2021 tot een volwaardige gitaargedreven, live spelende band.
Na een reeks live-optredens, ligt in 2022 de focus op het toewerken naar het opnemen van hun debuutalbum, waarvoor ze verschillende facetten van dualiteit verkennen: wat ligt boven de oppervlakte en wat eronder, wat staat voor de spiegel en wat erachter. Elke compositie trekt je mee in een nieuw landschap van bedrukkende schoonheid. MOULD kan niet wachten om hun energie en muziek te delen met liefhebbers van slow heaviness.
